FALL IN NORTH CAROLINA!

Yep, I am on the road again!  This time Minny and I are in Welcome, North Carolina, just south of Winston-Salem.  Remember?  I told you about Welcome in an earlier blog.  My "adopted mom and dad" have a place in Welcome.

The fall colors are beautiful!!!  Some of the trees have lost their leaves in the Welcome area, but there are still a lot of leaves on the trees.  Some of the trees are still green and haven't "turned" yet.  It has been windy this weekend, so it is "snowing leaves".  A lot of leaves are falling.

We all went to Old Town Salem, which is right in the town of Winston-Salem.  It was like walking through history.  There are buildings that were built in the 1800's.  Some of the buildings are museums that you can tour.  There are houses there that people still live in.

Here we are in Old Salem, NC.  Isn't that tree beautiful?  The colors were just so awesome!

We learned a lot about Old Salem and who originally settled there.  They were the Moravians, who were one of the first prostestants to settle in North Carolina.  One thing I found interesting is that in those days when young girls were walking on the sidewalk, the boys were not allowed out of the houses.  And when the boys were walking on the sidewalk, the girls were not allowed out of the houses.  Wow, very strict rules!

And another fact we learned about Old Salem is that they were the first ones to officially celebrate the 4th of July in 1783.  Wow, who knew!

Over the weekend we also went to the biggest barbecue festival in Lexington, NC.  Hundreds of people were there and the smell of barbecued pork was in the air!  And you know what?  I found one of my old school buddies!  He has a slush stand.  It was cool to see him again.  As they say, "It's a small, small world!".

We also took a nice ride to see the colors in the area south of Lexington.  We found this really old covered bridge outside of Ashboro, NC.  They don't use it anymore as it is very narrow and so old.  But it was neat to see it.

So Minny and I had a great weekend.  We were using my Moose Mills Magic Hand Therapy as it was cold in North Carolina.  And you know what the cold does, it dries out your hands or hoofs in Minny's and my case.  My hand therapy soaks into your hands and doesn't sit on top of your hands like a lot of mineral oil based products do.  So your hands stay soft for hours.  Remember, you can buy it at www.moosemills.com or a gift store near you.  Check out my web site for a list of the gift stores.

We are going to stay up here for another week.  This weather is my kind of weather.  It is in the forties, so perfect for roaming the mountains of North Carolina.  I heard it is snowing in the North Carolina mountains, so we will roam up there to see the snow.

Until next time.....................

BIKETOBERFEST!!!

I told you before that I travel a lot!  So guess where I was this past weekend?  Come on, guess!  Give up?  Okay, I will tell you.  I was in Daytona Beach, Florida, for Biketoberfest!!  Never been before and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

You see, my "adopted mom and dad" own a Harley.  A very nice 2003 Harley dresser.  No, not a dresser like in your bedroom!  Geesh!  It is a big Harley with saddle bags and tour pack.  That is what they call a dresser in biker language.

On Saturday, after applying my Moose Mills SPF30 Sunscreen, we all went for a ride up to Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach, Florida, which is just north of Daytona Beach.  That place is HUGE!  I have to admit that I have never seen so many motorcycles in one place.  There were hundreds of them.  I was told that there were 100,000 bikers in the area for Biketoberfest!  WOW!!!

See, I told you there were a lot of bikes!  Here are a couple pictures of bikes we saw.

Some cool motorcycles!

We met a lot of nice bikers.  Really, bikers are cool!  I even saw this one bike hauling a coffin behind it.  It was painted in yellows and oranges, and was very neat.  It matched the paint job on the motorcycle!  Should of gotten a picture of that one.

Just remember, whenever you go out in the sun you need to use a sunscreen.  My Moose Mills SPF30 Sunscreen is the perfect sunscreen to use.  You can buy it at www.moosemills.com.   And don't forget, on my website there is a list of stores that carry my products.  Check it out.

Until next time!

MUD FOR YOUR FEET!

Another week has gone by.  Where does the time go?  Soon it will be Halloween, then Thanksgiving and then Christmas!

This past weekend Minny and I were in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  There was snow on the mountains!   See how beautiful it was in the above picture.  Minny and I were having a blast running through the snow.  She even made a snow angel.  She was so cute!

After all that walking, especially in the snow, our hoofs were cold and in need of tender loving care.  So I used my Moose Mills Mud Foot Balm.

My Mud Foot Balm is enriched with peppermint oils, glycerin and grapefruit extracts to cool and soften tired soles, toes and "hoofs"!  It is a wonderful treat for your feet!  You can find it on my web site www.moosemills.com.

And you can also find my products at several stores.  Please check for a list of the stores at www.moosemills.com.

Until next time..................................

'DA BEARS

As I have told you before, I LOVE to travel.  So I traveled again this weekend and brought Minny Moose with me.

You see, my adopted "mom" and her family love 'DA BEARS.  Well I like bears, but can't say that I LOVE them!  We have, let's say, Respect for each other!

I found out that 'DA BEARS that "mom" loves is the Chicago Bears football team.  I have never been to a football game and neither has Minny.  Come to find out, "mom's" grandson, Ronnie, hasn't either.  So off we went this past Sunday to Jacksonville, Florida, to watch 'DA BEARS and the Jacskonville Jaguars play professional football.  Now I did say that "mom's" family loves 'DA BEARS.  There are two that don't.  "Mom's" daughter and grandson LOVE the JAGS!  But that is okay, we all had fun!

I was amazed at how many people LOVE 'DA BEARS!  Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of people that love the JAGS, but I think they were almost outnumbered at this game.  There were people wearing these football jerseys with different numbers and names.  The Chicago Bears jersey I saw the most of was Urlacher 54.  He is the defensive player with 'DA BEARS.  I also saw Payton 34.  They told me that he was also known as "Sweetness".  He used to play for 'DA BEARS and was on the winning Super Bowl Champs ('DA BEARS) in the 1985/1986 season.  He was "mom's" favorite player.  "Mom" was wearing a McMahon 9 jersey.  He was the quarterback for the Super Bowl Champs.  She told me she has a sweatshirt with Payton 34, but it was too hot on Sunday to wear it.  And it was very HOT!  It was 90 degrees at 4PM when the game started.  I am really not used to the hot weather.  Neither is Minny.  But we survived!  BEARLY!

I really liked watching 'DA BEARS and the Jags play the game of football.  There is a lot of cheering (really yelling) going on during the game.  We had a lot of Chicago Bear fans around us.  "Mom" really gets into these games.  It was fun watching her!  Minny and Ronnie liked the game also.  Ronnie said he wants to go back next week!  Typical child's answer isn't it?

The final score of the game was, 'DA BEARS 41, JAGS 3.  It was a great game for 'DA BEARS fans.  Not so much for the JAG fans.

The main thing is that it was a family outing and everyone had fun!  I am grateful to "mom" for taking me and Minny along.

Here is a picture of the game.  You can barely see my antlers in the picture.  It was more important to get a shot of the game.  No need to see me.  You see me enough, right?

But now I am ready to head back to New Hampshire along with Minny.  It will be great to cool off after spending time in Florida.  I heard it really got cold in New England this weekend.  That will be a welcome relief to both Minny and myself.

Until next time....................................
